Treacher Collins Prize Winner 2013 - added 5 April 2013


Mr Matthew Burton & Dr Saul Rajak have won the Treacher Collins Prize for their DVD ‘Trachomatous Trichiasis Surgery Training DVD: A Step-By-Step Guide’.

The Treacher Collins Prize is awarded to the best DVD at Congress.

AMO Prize Winner 2013 - added 15 February 2013

  Dr Munazzah Chou, East Surrey Hospital, has been awarded the AMO Prize 2013 for her paper 'Time trends over five decades, and recent geographical variation, in rates of childhood squint surgery in England'.

The AMO Prize is awarded to one of the top two abstracts obtaining the highest marks overall during the judging process.

SOE Prize Winner 2013 - added 15 February 2013

  Dr Lola Solebo, Ulverscroft Clinical Research Fellow, British Isles Congenital Cataract Interest Group (BCCIG) has won the SOE Prize 2013 for her paper 'IOLunder2: national study of outcomes of surgery with and without primary intraocular lens implantation in children <2years old with congenital/infantile cataract'.

The SOE Prize is awarded to one of the top two abstracts obtaining the highest marks overall during the judging process.

25TH Anniversary Reception – 21st May 2013 - added 5 February 2013

  At our 2013 Congress we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
In honour of this we will be holding a drinks reception on Tuesday 21st May at the Museum of Liverpool and invite all delegates and speakers to join us.
The reception will be held from 5.45 – 7.45 p.m. and we are delighted to announce that the Lord Mayor of Liverpool will also be in attendance.

Glaucoma Day – 20th May 2013 - updated 1 February 2013
Our Annual Congress will see the first Glaucoma Day running on 20th May

This day will be chaired by Professor Peter Shah and Miss Fiona Spencer and is set to be a great addition to our Congress. The Glaucoma Day aims to address practical everyday difficulties and challenges in glaucoma treatment.

There is an excellent national faculty for the day plus international speaker Professor Graham Lee (Brisbane, Australia).

Separate registration is required for the Glaucoma Day.

Abstract Results - added 31 January 2013
The results from abstract submission were be published on 21st January 2013 and all main authors were informed of the results.


25th Anniversary of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists - added 3 December 2012
We will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists at the Congress, there will be a special session led by our President, Professor Harminder Dua, on Tuesday 21st May to open Congress.
