Welcome from the Chairman of the Scientific Committee
JOIN US IN LIVERPOOL AT THE UK’S LARGEST OPHTHALMIC CONFERENCE
AND EXHIBITION

It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Scientific Committee, to
welcome you all to The Royal College of Ophthalmologists Annual
Congress 2015.

We are delighted to be returning to the Arena and Convention Centre, Liverpool from 19 – 21 May 2015.

It was a great honour to have been appointed to succeed Professor Tony Moore as Chairman of the Scientific Committee in 2014. On behalf of the College, I would like to acknowledge and thank him for immense effort he put in to organising such highly successful Congresses during his time as Chairman.

Many people have worked hard on the scientific programme, identifying and inviting internationally renowned lecturers, to ensure that Congress will be attractive and relevant to clinicians at all stages in their careers. We are very pleased to welcome David Crabb, Michael Marmor, John Sparrow and Anita Agrawal who will be delivering our eponymous lectures this year.

Many of you will be familiar with the highly successful Retina Day and Glaucoma Day sub-specialty meetings that precede the Annual Congress. These will run again on Monday 18 May, together with a joint neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus meeting. The presentations at these three events will complement content of the main Congress. As in previous years, separate registration is required.

We are also pleased to announce the return of the Allied Professions Day on Wednesday 20 May and we will be holding our second GP Day on Thursday 21 May. We look forward to welcoming our allied professions.

This website contains all the details of the eponymous lectures, symposia, courses, posters, DVDs, forums, commercial exhibition and social events.

This promises to again be a great meeting and we very much look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool.

Mr Michael Burdon FRCOphth FRCP(Edin)
