Welcome to the second BADT News Email for our June Conference to be held at the stunning Hilton Deansgate Hotel in Manchester, 10-11 June.

If you have not yet booked your accommodation, please do so as soon as you are able as the special rate will only be available until the 16th May. You do not need to actually pay for your room yet, your card details will be used to secure your room booking and then you pay as normal when you leave the hotel.

Following a succesful 50 Years celebration of dental therapy training last year in the capital, we would now like to welcome you to Manchester for this years National Conference and hope that you will register now.

Please remember that, if you are not yet a BADT Member, you can join for a year and register for the two day conference and still save money over the non member rate!! The Early-Bird rate for Full Members is only £170 for two days.

Newly qualified Dental Therapists receive a 50% member discount and pay just £35 in their first year, so even more of a saving. Students on an approved course can join for free and other members of the dental team, including dentists, hygienists and nurses can join BADT as an Associate Member, at the full rate, of just £70.

Delegates come back every year to learn new techniques and procedures and the programme reflects the wide scope of activities within our remit, ensuring that everyone attending gets great value from the conference, in addition to making new friends and contacts.

There is a great programme in store and we include some information on the opening speakers who will present on Friday morning.

Professor Paul Brunton, Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, Leeds Dental Institute will present Persil or Peroxide - Which Works Best? A guide to tooth whitening.
This session will provide an overview of whitening techniques and consider which procedure is best practice, which materials should be used and the current legal situation.

Dr Ravi Singh, General Dental Practitioner, NHs Salford and NHS Manchester will present The New NHS Contract - Quality Care Delivered Use of Skill Mix.
This session will give an insight into the implementation of new pilot contracts in the North West and its impact on skill mix, from a General Dental Practioners viewpoint.

Dr Colette Bridgman, Consultant in Dental Public Health, NHS Manchester will deliver the The New NHS Contract - Quality Care Delivered Use of Skill Mix session alongside Dr Ravi Singh.

Dr Bridgman will give a perspective as a Consultant in Dental Public Health into the new North West pilot contracts.
